Sprouted Grains a Fitness Boost

We all know how important proteins are during a fitness journey or even just living a healthy lifestyle. Body builders and health conscious people are always searching for the next best protein powder or shake to improve ones results. Protein shakes and powders often get very pricey and don’t always taste the best. Sprouted grains are a great, affordable and delicious alternative for your body to find the protein it needs to repair after a workout. When a grain is sprouted it breaks down the protein into individual amino acids. “Individual Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, making the grain easier to digest and the minerals more available for absorption.” (energyforeating.com). When considering your next protein source, sprouted grains are the more delicious, natural and affordable protein your body is looking for.

According to the US Department of Agriculture, men and women over the age of 19 should consume 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram, or 2 pounds, of body weight (Busch, S.). This equals about 40 grams of protein for every 100 pounds or 45 kilograms of body weight.
