Celebrating Whole Grains Month with todays recipe, Slow Cooker Overnight Apple Peanut Butter Crunchy

What an aromatic evening in the Sunningdale Mills kitchen it was when preparing today’s recipe that was inspired by this Slow Cooker Overnight Apple Peanut Butter Oatmeal recipe from Whole Grains Council website and is made with our Crunchy Trail Mix Cereal with Organic Sprouted Grains. Sunningdale Mills Crunchy Trail Mix Cereal with Organic Sprouted Grains ( that has the Whole Grain Stamp – 39 g per portion) is made with a carefully chosen blend of two whole grains, Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Sprouted Buckwheat, and a blend of organic sprouted seeds, Organic Sprouted Sunflower Seeds, Organic Brown Flax, Organic Chia, Organic Pumpkin Seeds and to add great flavour and aroma, Organic Cinnamon.
Ingredients - serves 4
Canola oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp. Maple syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1/4 cup chopped pecans
3 1/4 cups water
Directions
Coat the inside of slow cooker with canola oil to prevent sticking.
Combine the Crunchy Trail Mix, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt and 3 ¼ cups water in the slow cooker. Add the peanut butter and whisk to combine all ingredients thoroughly. Stir in the apples , cover cook on low heat for 8 hours
When ready, add all of the crusty crunchy trail mix stuck to the sides and the bottom by storing for 2 – 3 minutes. Enjoy warm.
The extra can be stored in the fridge, and enjoyed cold also as a tasty desert!!
